A Sunday Joy Ride
Concept & Objectives
This project gave me the opportunity to learn the basics of Animation in Adobe After Effects. The project involved creating a vector graphic that could be imported into AE to create an animation. This needed to be simple, professionally designed, and it needed to move in some way.

I really wanted to do something with wheels, so I made this Sunday joy ride scene with this cute dog going for a ride on his bike. It is simple, professionally designed, and it moves!
The Sketching Process
I began this project with a rough sketch of my idea. I wrote out an explanation of what I wanted my keyframes to look like and what movement the dog and the bike would make. The design and the animation were very simple, so it didn't take me long before I started creating my vector and diving into the animation elements.
The Drafting Process
I enjoyed creating my vector. I had to really think about the motion that each part of the bike and dog would make. I separated my layers depending on how things would move. The top picture of this write-up shows each separate layer. I took my vector into AE and began my first animation draft. The students in my class mentioned changing the movement of the tail from up & down to the sides. I took their advice and did my best to change the movement. I also added a backpedal and I looped the clouds. Here is the draft!

My Final Animation
I believe that my final animation meets the requirements of being simple, professionally designed, and it moves! This was a super fun and tasking project. I ran into lots of complications on AE and I had to restart a couple of times. I am excited to continue learning how to animate in AE. Here is my final!
